June Update

Wow, how time flies. It's mid-June and I've been busy working and keeping the home front on an even keel that I've neglected all else.
Lots going on here at the moment. Am approaching the end of my 90day probationary period with Wal-Mart and it's going well though when all is said and done it is merely a job with a paycheck that is a means to an end. Do enjoy it most of the time though there are days when it gets tiresome and long.
Lots going on at JamsBio.com and more exciting things to come from Yovia so am looking forward to that. Hope to have some new writing to do soon for them.
Surprised Mike with a Three Stoogies collection for Father's Day and an early birthday present that was delivered Saturday. He is now the proud owner of a Yamaha Road Star Silverado 1700cc motorcycle. It's a black beauty and he is really loving it. It will be his primary transportation to work as well as his leisure toy. The time was right.
For my relaxation of late I've been reading. Mostly visiting old friends in print as I've read the new books about the characters from Pride and Prejudice and finally read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Has set my creative juices flowing again and hope to find time to do some writing of my own again soon.
Hope all is well with all of you. Will be updating this more often again so come read what's happening more often.
Have a great week

It's May

It just doesn't seem possible, but here it is the 2nd of May already! This is the month of flowers and a time to honor Mom and our servicemen. Please do both.Well I made it through my first 30 days with Wal-Mart and I'm actually getting comfortable with the job. Don't know if I will continue to get better at it, I hope to, but I have improved over the first couple weeks. Feel more confident most of the time. Love getting to talk to and see all the people. Though are times it can be frustrating and more. Didn't have a big social life before, but with my work schedule it's even less. It was great having two days off this week with Mike. Gave us some down time we really needed. Of course he was busy with chores too. He power washed our screen porch Monday and it looks fantastic again. Can actually see through the screens again. LOL.Work a full shift (8hrs) today and again tomorrow. Then short shifts Sunday and Monday before I get another day off. Know I'll be ready for that when it comes. Mike is being real helpful with household chores too, which makes it easier. Have laundry, ironing, and monthly park news letters to deliver before work time today.
Am still writing memories for JamsBio. Did five more this week. Love the sight and really do enjoy reading other people's memories. Really gives you an insight into people and introduces you to music you might not otherwise hear about.Have also been spending a bit of time at buzz.prevention.com. Lots of good information about getting healthy and staying that way. do check it out.Actually got to watch Dancing With The Stars live this week instead of a day late on our recorder. The best part was seeing it and getting to vote. Really enjoy the show. Loved hearing Def Leppard on the show as well Tuesday. That's the news here. Have a great week

It's Friday Again

For most Friday is the last day of the work week and they are looking forward to the weekend--hooray! However, that is not my fate at the moment.Worked a full shift yesterday--getting off at 11pm--and will be going in for four hours today then a full shift Saturday and 4 hours Sunday. Busy weekend.Tonight Mike and I will be taking Elsie (Bob too) out to celebrate her 74th birthday, which is actually next Tuesday. She wants to go The Spaghetti Wareshouse in Ybor City then peruse the nightlife of Channelside and Ybor, so that is what we are doing. Should be fun, just hope Mike and I aren't too tired to enjoy it properly.Been a busy week. Worked last Saturday until 9pm then was up at 4am to get ready for my trip to Orlando with Elsie, Freada, and Alice. What a great day. I received my Academy of Friendship degree along with 247 other deserving women. that is the first degree awarded to Women of the Moose for their work within the Chapter. Lots of changes coming to the organization from the International Headquarters. Can't say that I agree with them all, but I still believe in their basic principals so will accept and continue doing what I can.Worked a short shift Monday then was off Tuesday and Wednesday. spent most of Tuesday catching up on tasks left undone while working. Also spent a lot of time on my favorite website--JamsBio--as well as checking in on some other sites that Yovia is helping to promote that are worth it. One of them I am especially fond of is http://buzz.prevention.com. Great tips on living healthier.JamsBio is really booming and their are some truly wonderful people sharing their memories on the sight. They have two contests going at the moment. The first is in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jackson's Thriller. What's your favorite song and memory of it? It could be worth a thousand dollars. The other contest is about your favorite song and the memory it holds. Just log in and share it your memory to be entered into that one. the more you share the more chances you have of winning in their weekly drawing. On the downside, my friend, Michelle has spent the last five days in the hospital, Saw her Wednesday and thankfully she is doing better and should be home by now. She has an infectious skin disease and is anenmic. Both are being treated with positive results. With all the tests and such they also discovered she has a leaking heart valve and another is enlarged, but the heart doctor doesn't deem it a serious problem though she will have to see him once a month for monitoring. Also had another friend in the hospital for surgery that we checked in on and she is doing fine as well. Our love and prayers go out to both of them.Straying from the personal just a moment. I have to say that I am once again disappointed with the media. While I don't condone multiple wives or child having babies etc. the media needs to get their facts straight. The group under investigation in Texas is NOT a Cult. It is a sect within a RELIGION that adheres to the old teachings and beliefs of its founders. They are not all monsters and to date no one has located the child that made the call so their is little proof of any wrong doing. At a time when everyone is bending over backwards to be politically correct and not offend other religions, especially Muslims and Islam, why are these people not being afforded the same? What about the earthquake in the Midwest? That was a surprise, but then we shouldn't be if we read our Bible. Earthquakes in unusual places is told of during the end times. If we aren't there yet, we are getting close.Well I've gone for awhile this time so will close, but do check out the sites I've mentioned and let me know what you think. Personally I can get lost in JamsBio for hours and hours.Have a Blessed Week. See you next Friday.

Another great site I just discovered for healthy living has great tips on exercise and really yummy sounding recipes

http://buzz.prevention.com/about/

Away from the computer I've been working 20-30 a week at Wal-Mart. Still can't remember all the ways to properly allow people to pay--each way has its own set of keystrokes, but I'm getting there. Enjoy most of the people and have started getting acquainted with new ones. Not bad at all. Been mostly working late afternoon and evening, which is when they are busiest of courseSunday I'm off to Orlando to receive my first Women of the Moose degree, which is the Academy of Friendship. I'm kind of excited about that as it is proof that I've worked hard for the chapter and they are recognizing that commitment.

On the home front, Mike and I are doing well. Don't have as much time together as we would like, but for now the price is worth it.
Would love to hear from everyone on what you think about this site and the others I've mentioned.
Have a great weekend and week--see you next Friday

Some Day

life, obsessions, love, stories
"Some day I'm going to write the story of my life" the song says and that is close to my dream. From the age of ten I've been writing stories and poems with the hope of someday being a published author. The stories are fictional though quite often in my earlier years they were based on experiences I'd had, only they always came out better in my stories. The poems were usually done at stressful or highly emotional times in my life as a way to express things I could not verbalize successfully to anyone. In truth, I have always expressed my self more completely on paper. In most cases it's because I get too emotional otherwise and end up crying. Try as I might to overcome that affliction I have yet to succeed. Several years ago my obsession with writing led me to get involved with a group spearheaded by a successful mystery writer. Anonymously we each wrote an abbreviated version of our life for a book called Silver Tales, because all of us were over fifty. We self-published the book the first time. Since then it has been picked up and revised a couple times. The latest version has even shorter versions of our original stories and is called Pearls of Wisdom. So, I have written the story of my life in a way, but it has not satisfied the dream. My dream is to have my romance novels published, but more than that I also dream of seeing my son's fantasy novels published (he is an even better story teller than me). So whenever I hear this song I am reminded that there are still dreams to fulfill and goals left to reach"”someday.
